Since 1958

Company History

Anthony's Stamp and Coin was built on a simple principle: collectors deserve to work with people who understand the meaning behind a collection. Since 1958, we have worked with collectors, families, heirs, and estate representatives buying coins, stamps, currency, gold, silver, and complete collections.

A collection can represent decades of research, thoughtful purchases, family memories, and personal history. We recognize the time and care behind that material. Our approach is to examine the full holding, explain what we find, and then discuss its value with you.

Our Story

Our Story

Howard Anthony founded Anthony's Stamp and Coin in 1958 as a family business rooted in collecting knowledge and personal relationships. More than six decades later, those same principles remain central to how we work with collections throughout the United States.

Over the years, we have seen the coin and stamp markets evolve and have handled everything from individual rarities to complete collections and estate holdings. Our experience includes certified coins, paper money, precious metals, and accumulations assembled across multiple generations.

Our presence in the marketplace has evolved as well. We have been active on eBay since 1997, giving us decades of firsthand experience buying and selling in a marketplace used by collectors around the world.

That record reflects years of transactions, not a recent marketing claim.

Built by collectors. Bought by collectors. That perspective matters when someone decides it is time to sell a collection that took years, or even a lifetime, to assemble.

Our Expertise

Our Expertise

Experience comes from seeing thousands of coins and understanding how rarity, grade, certification, condition, demand, and market history affect a collection. Anthony's Stamp and Coin has spent decades evaluating U.S. coins, world coins, stamps, currency, gold, and silver.

Our professional standing adds another layer of confidence. Anthony's Stamp and Coin is an authorized PCGS and NGC dealer. We also belong to the American Numismatic Association and the American Stamp Dealers Association.

We also work with collectors nationwide and attend major auctions, giving us regular exposure to changing market activity. That background helps us evaluate collections carefully and make informed cash offers.

What We Buy & Sell

What We Buy & Sell

Morgan Dollar Collection

Morgan Dollar collections can take many forms, from carefully assembled date and mintmark sets to certified pieces, Carson City issues, albums, and large silver dollar accumulations. We examine the collection in its entirety rather than focusing exclusively on the scarcest dates.

Peace Dollar Collection

We purchase Peace Dollar collections assembled around dates, mintmarks, grades, or certification. Complete sets, partial sets, duplicates, albums, and collections inherited through an estate all receive the same careful attention.

Pre-1933 Gold Coins

Pre-1933 gold collections may include Double Eagles, Eagles, Half Eagles, Quarter Eagles, Gold Dollars, individual rarities, or substantial holdings assembled over many years. These pieces can carry significant financial and family value, making knowledgeable evaluation particularly important.

Proof Sets

We purchase U.S. Mint proof sets ranging from vintage issues to silver proof sets, Prestige sets, modern releases, and sets preserved in their original Mint packaging. Large accumulations are also considered as part of the collection.

Quarter Collection

Quarter collections can include complete albums, date runs, mintmark sets, certified examples, silver issues, and estate accumulations. We look at the full group, including common pieces, rather than removing only the coins that appear most valuable.

World Coin Collection

World coin collections can focus on a single country, a particular period, or a broad mixture of nations and denominations. We review British, Canadian, Chinese, German, and other foreign coins, including foreign gold, silver crowns, trade coins, and mixed collections inherited through an estate.

2-Cent & 3-Cent Pieces

We purchase 2-Cent Pieces, Silver 3-Cent Pieces, Nickel 3-Cent Pieces, type collections, and early American denominations in many grades. Short-lived denominations require careful identification and informed review.

Why Choose Anthony's

Why Choose Anthony's Stamp and Coin?

Our history gives sellers a concrete reason to consider our experience. Anthony's Stamp and Coin has operated since 1958, purchases collections throughout the United States, and has developed long-standing relationships throughout the numismatic market.

We look at complete collections instead of selecting a handful of key dates and leaving the remaining material behind. Rare coins have their place, but so do common coins, certified pieces, duplicates, albums, boxes, and the less familiar items that may not immediately stand out.

For larger qualifying collections, we travel to homes, offices, banks, and safe deposit boxes. You do not have to pack valuable coins, ship them to an unknown buyer, or wait through an auction cycle before receiving a decision.

Consignment can make sense in some situations, but it also brings commissions, seller fees, shipping costs, insurance expenses, delays, and uncertainty around the final auction result. A direct sale takes a different approach, centered on one meeting, one offer, and one payment.

Selling a collection can be a significant decision. You may be downsizing, settling an estate, managing a trust, or deciding what to do with coins inherited from a parent, spouse, relative, or close friend.

We examine the collection as a whole and base our offer on the material actually in front of us. If we reach an agreement, payment is made immediately.

Call us to discuss your collection and request a valuation. We will talk through what you have and the best way for us to review it.
